Private Notary Fees in Dubai

Private notary fees in Dubai are set by Dubai Courts and by the Cabinet, not by the notary. This page publishes the schedule, names the instrument each figure comes from, and says plainly which part of a bill is government fee.

Which rules apply

  • Dubai Courts Decision 312 of 2025Official Gazette Issue No. 752, in force 2 January 2026
  • Cabinet Resolution 19 of 2024The federal schedule for value based fees
  • Read at sourceBoth instruments read in full, not copied from another site
  • Quoted before you signGovernment fee and our fee, in writing, in advance

Who sets these fees, and who does not

A private notary in Dubai does not set the fee for a notarial act. The fee is prescribed, and the two instruments that prescribe it are public. Dubai Courts Decision No. 312 of 2025 sets the fees charged by private notaries in the Emirate of Dubai, published in the Official Gazette of the Government of Dubai, Issue No. 752, and in force from 2 January 2026. Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024 sets the federal schedule that governs how instruments with a stated value are charged.

That distinction is the whole point of this page. When you are quoted a figure, you are entitled to know which part of it is a government fee fixed by law and which part is the notary’s own charge for drafting, translating, verifying and attending. Most notary sites in this market publish a single number with no breakdown. We publish the schedule and tell you where each line comes from.

What you should expect from any notary in Dubai

A breakdown, not a lump sum. The government fee is public. If a quote cannot be split into the prescribed fee and the professional fee, ask why.

The fee in writing before work starts. Not after the drafting, not at the counter, and not once you have already taken time off work to attend.

No charge for the first conversation. Telling you which instrument you need, what you must bring and roughly what it will cost is not billable work. It is how you avoid paying twice.

A receipt that names the acts performed. A notarial act is a matter of record. So is what you paid for it.

Fees for every notarial act

Set by Dubai Courts Decision No. 312 of 2025, in force from 2 January 2026. These apply regardless of the value of the document.

Government fee and professional fee are two different things

The tables on this page are the government fee. It is prescribed, it is the same wherever you go, and no notary can discount it or add to it.

Separately, a private notary charges a professional fee for the work around the act: preparing the bilingual draft, arranging or checking the translation, verifying identity, reading the document with you, and attending where attendance is needed. That is the part that differs between practices, and it is the part you should have in writing before you agree to anything.

We quote both, separately, before work starts. If you have been quoted a single number by anyone, ask for the split.

The first conversation

Telling you which instrument you need and what to bring is not charged.

The draft, reviewed with you

Reading the document back to you before signing is part of the service, not an extra.

Corrections to our own work

If a document has to be corrected because we drafted it wrong, that is ours to fix.

A copy of what you signed

You leave with the document and the record of the act.

Government fees, at cost

Passed through exactly as prescribed. We do not mark them up.

A written quote

Before work starts, not after.

What can change a quote after it is given

The document turns out to state a value. A contract that mentions a sum moves from the flat fee to the value based table. This is the most common reason a quote changes, and it is why we ask to see the document rather than work from a description.

A page count changes. Notarising a translation included in an instrument is charged per page. A longer document is a longer instrument.

Attendance is added. If the signing moves out of our office, the AED 1,000 attendance fee applies. It is a single fee for the attendance, not per signature.

A party is added. Several fees are charged per party or per signature. One more signatory changes the arithmetic.

None of these are surprises if the document is seen first. Send it, or bring it, and the quote will hold.

  • Electronic registration AED 100
  • Signature verification AED 100
  • Attending outside the office AED 1,000
  • Power of attorney AED 100 per party
  • Affidavit AED 300
  • Translation AED 50 per page
  • Establishing a date AED 200
  • Certificate from the registers AED 300
  • Copy of a paper AED 5 per page
  • Correcting an instrument AED 300
  • No value stated AED 200 per party
  • Value cap, execution AED 15,000
  • Value cap, notarisation AED 30,000

How a quote is put together

  1. You describe the task or send the document. The document matters more than the description, because the fee depends on what it says.
  2. We identify the instrument and the fee items. Which rows of the tables above apply, and how many parties, signatures and pages there are.
  3. We quote the government fee and our fee separately. In writing. Nothing starts until you have it.
  4. The work is done and the act is registered. Dubai Courts issues the document electronically with a verification barcode.
  5. You receive the document and the record. Delivered by secure link, with a receipt naming the acts performed.

Questions about fees

Are these the fees I will actually pay?

The tables on this page are the government fee, and yes, that part is fixed by law and is the same at any private notary in Dubai. Our professional fee is separate and is quoted to you in writing before work starts.

Why do two notaries quote different totals for the same document?

Because the professional fee differs between practices, and because a document that states a value is charged differently from one that does not. If two quotes differ a lot, ask each for the split between government fee and professional fee. That usually explains it.

What does “per party” mean?

A party is a person or company that is a party to the instrument. A power of attorney with one grantor and one attorney has two parties, so an item charged at AED 100 per party costs AED 200.

What counts as a stated value?

A sum of money written into the document itself, such as a purchase price or a share transfer consideration. A document that mentions no figure is charged on the “no value stated” row at AED 200 per party.

Is the AED 15,000 cap or the AED 30,000 cap the right one?

It depends on whether the act is execution or notarisation. Execution is capped at AED 15,000 under item 3 of the annexed table. Notarisation is capped at AED 30,000 under item 7. Tell us which act your matter needs and we will tell you which applies.

Do you charge to tell me what I need?

No. Identifying the right instrument, listing what you must bring and giving you the fee is how you avoid paying for the wrong document. There is no charge for that conversation.

When are these figures from?

Dubai Courts Decision No. 312 of 2025 came into force on 2 January 2026. Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024 governs the value based items. Both were read at source rather than copied from a summary. If either is amended, this page changes.

Can I pay after the document is issued?

Ask when you call. The government fee is payable to register the act, so it has to be settled for the document to be issued.
